Are there any resources you recommend for treating kids with functional approaches?

Chris Kresser: Eileen asked, “Are there any resources you recommend for treating kids with functional approaches?”

Not yet, although a growing number of pediatricians are getting interested in Functional Medicine. I think we have a few coming into our new cohort that started a couple of weeks ago. I’m seeing more OB/GYNs get interested in Functional Medicine, which is great.

I think it’s such a ripe area, and I don’t know of any course, Eileen, for Functional Medicine pediatrics at this point, but that would be phenomenal for somebody to put that together. I mean, I have a lot of experience with kids. I would say, 20 to 30 percent of my practice is kids, so maybe that’s something I’ll do at some point. But kids under 2, as I was saying to Amber, is just a different ball of wax, at least for me.
