Best advice for treating die-off reactions?

Heidi also asks. “Best advice for treating die-off reactions?”

Chris: We don’t have a handout for die-off, but the advice there would be reducing the dosage for awhile while that’s happening. Sometimes charcoal or bentonite clay can be helpful. Sauna or hot bath, something that improves sweating and detox. Eating a very simple diet as if they’re having significant GI symptoms, so just doing like a mushy diet, soft soups, blended soups, or even smoothies if they tolerate those okay and just really taking it easy. Some patients have this sort of race to the finish mentality, like they don’t want to stop or slow down because they’re really desperate to get well which is understandable. I like to explain to them that that usually lengthens the treatment protocol because they’re overwhelming their body’s capacity to handle the treatment, and because of that, it ends up taking longer than it would have otherwise.
