Does wearing sunglasses when outside decrease the benefits of daytime sun exposure?

Chris Kresser: Yes, it does. And so we recommend to patients that when they go outside for a walk during the day, they do it without sunglasses for at least the first 20 or 30 minutes, and then if they want to wear sunglasses after that that’s fine. They’ve already gotten the benefit of light exposure at that point and I don’t know that there’s research suggesting additional benefit from additional exposure.
