Heavy metals detox protocol you like? I’ve been using Quicksilver.

Teresa says, “Heavy metals detox protocol you like? I’ve been using Quicksilver.”

Amy Nett: Yes, I like Quicksilver. I think that’s a pretty good protocol. I sometimes tweak it a little bit. I might use a little less vitamin C. Overall, I think that one’s a really good sort of template, and then you just tweak it for the different patients. That one is pretty high in selenium and B6 if you’re using the Clear Way Cofactors and the Renton, so just make sure you’re double-checking the other supplements patients are taking, so they’re not totally overdoing it on vitamin B6. And I wouldn’t use that particular one for more than three months, so if I end up having to do detox on someone for longer than three months, like, going into kind of another round of three months, I do switch up the formulas, maybe use something like Vital Nutrients Detox Formula instead of Clear Way Cofactors because I think that total selenium in that protocol is something like 400 to 600 mcg at the full doses, and to me that’s just a little too much to be taking for that long.

It’s also, now they have the Tesseract, who makes ProButyrate. They also make SafeCell glutathione. It’s a capsule form, basically, of glutathione. I think it’s nice to give patients the option, especially if they’re trying to travel while they’re doing detox. I think it’s really nice to be able to give them a capsule form of glutathione so things don’t have to be refrigerated, and then same thing for the vitamin C. I think vitamin C is probably a good idea when we’re doing heavy metal detox. I try not to overuse vitamin C. You guys are probably aware of the research that shows taking antioxidants can certainly have its downside.

Now there’s interesting research on reactive oxygen species as being signaling molecules, so we probably don’t want to quench them as much as we used to think, and taking vitamin C right before or after exercise can actually blunt a lot of the beneficial effects of exercise, but of course when we’re doing a heavy metal detox we potentially are increasing those reactive oxygen species. I just like to sometimes have that conversation with people, but again because the Quicksilver liposomal vitamin C requires refrigeration, if people are traveling or need to take it into work, I like the … the brand is HealthForce Truly Natural Vitamin C and it’s, I believe, just a powder, so natural sources of vitamin C, and, again, you’re supposed the mix the vitamin C and with the IMD, as I recall. I’ll have patients do that and maybe just take a slightly lower dose of vitamin C, but those are just some of the tweaks that I’ll do with the protocol.
