Is there in an order of preference for lab tests that you like to order if patient is reluctant to complete?

Dr. Amy Nett: Yes. This is exactly so if the patient is concerned about doing too many lab tests at once. I would probably start with that comprehensive blood panel, and then you need to just think about what their symptoms are. If it sounds like they’re having bloating every time after they eat broccoli, then you probably want to go with the SIBO breath test. If it’s a long-standing history of alternating loose stools and constipation, maybe there’s less bloating, then maybe you start with Doctors Data comprehensive stool analysis with parasitology testing. I think they’re reluctant to do that core of testing, which is completely understandable, right? It’s a lot of testing. It’s a lot of money. You just want to really sit down and look at their history and track out the timeline, look at the symptoms, and figure out where to go.
