Would it be possible that cross-reactive foods with gliadin could also cause elevated TPO antibodies? Also have you seen TPO antibodies decrease with removal of iodine supplementation?

Chris Kresser:  The answers to those questions are yes and yes. I’ve seen both of those things happen and it’s one of the reasons I recommend a gluten-free diet and people who are producing antibodies to thyroid, even when their thyroid levels numbers are normal like in the case that Dhalid shared. And if gluten can do it, then foods that are cross-reacting with gluten can do it too because they are cross-reacting causing some of those same issues.
