So follow-ups are normally 30 minutes?

Dr. Amy Nett: Chris’s follow-ups are only 30 minutes. For my follow-ups, patients are allowed to self-schedule for 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. I generally let them choose. Some patients like to schedule hour-long follow-ups because they want to take their time going over all the test results, ask things about diet. Other patients try to fit way too much information into 30 minutes. Then I also squeeze people in for 15 minutes here and there. If they’re not tolerating the protocol well or if some new kind of severe symptoms crop up, I also do allow 15 minutes, but I don’t allow patients to self-schedule those because I’m a little bit worried of people kind of taking advantage and trying to fit too much into 15 minutes. Fifteen minutes for functional medicine I just don’t think is enough time, so they’re only scheduled by our practice manager if I’ve approved it and if they say they just want to cover this or that.
