Dr. Amy Nett: Great question. This is something that we haven’t really been doing too much. As far as I know, Dunwoody Labs has a test called the Advanced Intestinal Barrier Assessment, and that test does include a measurement of DAO, or diamine oxidase, histamine, and zonulin. This is a new test. For the past year or year and a half, we’ve used it intermittently when we’ve been looking for histamine intolerance. This test panel previously only included DAO and histamine, and then, I think, a month ago, they added zonulin to it and renamed it the Advanced Intestinal Barrier Assessment. Again, this is Dunwoody Labs. I’ve only run it on one or two patients since they’ve added the zonulin, so it’s not something that we have a lot of experience with yet, but if you start ordering this test and have some more experience with it, let us know how that goes. That’s the only test I know of that runs zonulin levels. I think the Cyrex Array 2 runs antibodies against zonulin, but I don’t know that they directly measure zonulin levels. I think it’s just the Dunwoody Labs.
