If the patient has gallbladder stones, is it possible to dissolve them. If yes, are there any studies on this topic?

Dr. Amy Nett: There are some herbal formulas that might be able to help dissolve gallbladder stones. I haven’t done this too often, and I know I’ve used a couple of the formulas. I’ve just gone to Emerson Ecologics, so you should be able to start accounts there. There are some herbal tinctures there that contain a few different compounds. I think it’s Chanca Piedra, which is one that’s really common for dissolving gallbladder stones, but I’ve seen some patients reportedly have say— I’ve had two patients in particular who we have actually followed up on their gallstones, and we’ve seen them decreasing in size using some of these herbal tinctures. Again, if you were to just go, you should be able to establish accounts with Emerson Ecologics. When I’m just looking for a new formula and kind of wanting to expand what I’m using, you can just go to Emerson Ecologics, and you can type in a search term, and then sometimes it’ll bring up various matches. If you go to Emerson Ecologics, you can type in something like, let’s say, gallbladder stones. Let’s see this comes up with anything, so we’ll have to look at that one. I’m thinking we look at stones. Here you go. If you type in stones, you can get something like stone breaker compound, and that’s a tincture from Herb Pharm with again the Chanca Piedra. I don’t know if I’m pronouncing that correctly. It’s two two words. That one seems helpful. Looks like hydrangea root, celery seed, and burdock root. There is one example of the formula that I think would be worth trying in terms of dealing with kidney stones or gallstones probably, so again, searching out— learning new compounds. Then, whenever there’s something new you want to try, also sort of make sure I don’t see any interactions, so I would then do a little— oh, there you go, yes Lyndsey’s pulling that up, from Herb Pharm. Stone Breaker Formula is a nice one. I think Wise Woman Herbals is another company that has really nice herbal formula. If you go to Wise Woman Herbals, sometimes that can be another way. Search their website and look for formulas. I mean, just learning websites that you trust, learning companies that you trust and then getting information there. Here, Lyndsey is pulling up Wise Woman Herbals. If you go to the products by body system, that may be a good way to do it. Maybe the liver and gallbladder section, and then if you click on that, I wonder… Here we go. So yes, that’s one way I look for new formulas. In terms of studies about the topic, that I don’t actually know their studies on that one, so sorry. I don’t have any studies though to refer you to that one. There are probably are some.
