Trevor says, “Thoughts on additional revenue streams in the clinic. There are unending options such as PEMF, IV nutrition, ozone therapy, prolotherapy, etc. It seems a lot of patients would benefit from this and not have access anywhere else in my area.”
Chris: Yes. Those are all perfectly legitimate or worth exploring depending on your scope of practice and your specialty. Startup costs for each of those things varies, of course, depending on the equipment you need. At CCFM, we don’t do any of that yet, but we actually are exploring IV nutrition, possibly ozone. As you may know, my co-director Dr. Sunjya Schweig sees a lot of patients with Lyme and tick-borne illnesses, and they often benefit from ozone and IV nutrition. I’ve become more interested in PEMF or pulsed electromagnetic frequency therapy recently. For those who are not aware of it, that equipment is pretty expensive, about $6,000 to $7,000 for a home unit, so it’s out of the range for many patients, and it’s something that can lend itself well to that model. Yes, I think all that’s very much worth exploring. Unfortunately, I don’t have any experience that I can share with you in terms of the best way to set that up, but that may change by the end of this year, so keep in touch about it.
