Atlas Biomed

Chris: This question is from Simone, “Hi, Chris, I went to a fitness festival over the weekend and Atlas Biomed had a stand there. They were promoting their gut microbiome and DNA stool tests. I’m wondering if you’ve come across this laboratory based in the Netherlands. They seem to produce a lot of results for a substantially reduced cost.”

I would be careful and wary of that because the kits have a certain cost for the lab company to get the proper kits and use the proper kits. If something is substantially lower cost and more affordable than other labs, then there is a decent chance that they’re not using the proper kits and methodology. That’s especially important with DNA and PCR analysis. You want to make sure that the technology is sound. I went to the website, but I think it’s in Dutch, perhaps, which I can’t unfortunately read or make sense of. It’s a little hard for me to be able to comment on that because I’m not sure what methodology they’re using.
