Chi says, “Hi, Chris, I notice Atrantil is recommended in the pediatric botanical protocol but not in the one for adults. Why is that?”

Chris: We do sometimes use it for adults, but with kids, I’m more conservative with drugs, and I think taking neomycin, which I think is generally a safe drug but does have some issues that I talked about back in the unit for kids, I’m generally just not a big fan of that, especially if we can use Atrantil to deal with it. For adults, we will sometimes add Atrantil to the protocol if it’s methane-predominant, or we might even try it as a monotherapy, but I’ve had mixed results with it. When it works, it tends to work pretty well. I’d say it’s worked about half the time in my experience, maybe less.
