Chris Kresser: We don’t do any chelation. Well, that’s not true. We use EDTA in our metal detox protocol for some patients at some point. We don’t start with that, but we use the Quicksilver protocol for metal detox, and it’s extremely effective. That’ll probably be one of the first advance modules that I teach—treating heavy metal toxicity or just detox in general, and you’ll see the lab results showing the efficacy of the protocol called The Cube. We’ve made some modifications to it over the years, but that as a basic protocol is very effective in most cases. For lead, often chelation can be necessary, but for mercury, it’s typically not. I know that Quicksilver is about to come out with a new binder that contains silica, charcoal, clay, pectin, and a bunch of other substances that I’ve talked to Chris about, and they’re seeing phenomenal results with it. That should be interesting.
