If so, what do you suggest in the timeframe in which to avoid them? Do these include other fermented foods such as yogurt and kefir?

Chris: I haven’t yet changed my recommendations, but I’ve been thinking a lot about it. I would like to see the results replicated in at least another context, and I’d like to see them replicated with a different antibiotic other than Cipro because Cipro is such a carpet bomb for the gut flora, such a broad-spectrum antibiotic. I think there’s going to be some nuance here, and I’m just concerned about making a blanket recommendation based on the results of one study, so at the moment, we haven’t changed our recommendations, but it’s something we continue to evaluate.
