Question from Jessica. “Do you tend to see a correlation between an abnormal CSA or BioHealth test and SIBO testing? Stated another way, if the Doctors Data comprehensive stool analysis or BioHealth are unremarkable, is it worthwhile to consider a SIBO test?”

Chris: The answer to your question is yes. I tend to see a correlation, but yes, it’s still worthwhile to consider SIBO. It’s absolutely possible and not uncommon in my experience that a patient will have SIBO but have normal Doctors Data and BioHealth tests. Unfortunately, we can’t use that as a reliable guide for determining whether we should order a SIBO test.
