For methane-predominant SIBO, do you simply add the Jarrow Ideal Bowel Support to the standard botanical protocol? Should this be taken at any particular time of the day?

Dr. Amy Nett: Yeah, for methane-predominant SIBO, if you’re talking about the botanical protocol, yes, what we do is we add the Ideal Bowel Support.

I generally recommend that patients take it with the Prescript-Assist. Again, the main idea is that you don’t want them taking the probiotics when they’re taking the antimicrobials. It’s a little bit different for the MegaSporeBiotic because MegaSporeBiotic functions best when it’s taken around the time of food, so that one we generally have patients take at lunch because they’re only taking the Lauricidin, which may be a slightly less potent antimicrobial than the GI-Synergy. So Ideal Bowel Support just have them take whenever they take the Prescript-Assist.
