  4. I recently had to take a round of antibiotics. I’ve been trying to do the restoration protocol from Week 15. The prebiotics can be difficult to drink as most of them don’t dissolve well in water. Do you have suggestions for making them more palatable? I’ve tried putting some of the thicker ones in smoothies, but can they be mixed with hot drinks like coffee to help them dissolve better?

Amy Nett: I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t mix the prebiotic powders in hot drinks if that makes it work better for you. I don’t think I’ve ever tried putting them in hot drinks. Sometimes it is just a matter of mixing it and then sort of drinking it quickly. Some people, as you said, will mix it into chia pudding, or as you mentioned, you could do a smoothie, a little bit of a yogurt, whether coconut yogurt, something like that. But again, prebiotics are often found in food, so mixing them into something that’s warmer if that works for you, I don’t see any reason why not.
