Dr. Amy Nett: Yeah, regarding the cod liver oils we’re now using, Rosita Real Foods is one option. I think that’s Chris’s favorite at this point. I’ve also more recently started using one called NutraPro International. NutraPro International makes virgin cod liver oil. They also make a butter oil. The virgin cod liver oil seems really well sourced and processed. Again, they’re pretty transparent about both their processing and their sourcing, so I feel pretty comfortable with the NutraPro brand, as well. It’s also a little bit more cost effective than the Rosita. Rosita has a slightly fishier taste. I mean, it more clearly tastes like you’re eating cod liver oil. If you’re introducing it to a baby, you might want that taste so that they become accustomed to it, but certainly for my adult patients who don’t appreciate the taste of cod liver oil, I tend to use the NutraPro International brand because I think their unflavored has a milder flavor compared with Rosita, and they also have lemon, peppermint, and a combined lemon and peppermint, where they just use some oils to give it, again, a little bit of a lemon flavor so it sort of mutes the fish flavor.
So either Rosita or NutraPro. You can use either of those instead of the fermented cod liver oil, both for introducing to kids and also for your adult patients.
