Dr. Amy Nett: Again, methylation is something that hopefully we’ll be able to cover pieces of that in this training, and then when Chris starts doing the sort of one-off courses or more advanced courses in the future, we’ll probably do a full section on methylation. I can’t really answer this in a way that would work for every patient across the board. Again, I think I’ve mentioned that we generally do genetic testing using 23andMe to get the patient’s genetic predisposition, but we find that while genetics are very interesting, epigenetics play a more significant role, so we also do functional methylation testing, using a panel from HDRI. Depending on what that panel looks like, that’s often what’s helping guide our methylation support, but in general, we’re looking at using supplements for methylation that are the active forms of B vitamins. We will sometimes use some gentle detoxification support. We may use some phosphatidylcholine as another supportive supplement in detoxification as well. That’s our general approach. But then when you say, is there anything that would be contraindicated, well, in some people, providing additional active forms of B vitamins can be too much and can be overmethylation, so that’s why we really try to go with testing. But in general, the methylation support is active forms of B vitamins, gentle detox support, and phosphatidylcholine.
