We’ve not discussed to this point the program, but are you currently using Cyrex Array 22 for IBS/SIBO screen?

Okay. A question from Dr. Justin, “We’ve not discussed to this point the program, but are you currently using Cyrex Array 22 for IBS/SIBO screen?”

Chris: No and I don’t. I take issue with Cyrex calling that a SIBO screen. I think that’s a little bit disingenuous since it has never been validated as a test for SIBO. The only two tests that can detect SIBO according to the scientific literature are via an endoscopy, a small-bowel aspiration, or a breath test. In fact, I mean, the definition of SIBO is based on the amount of bacteria that they culture in that endoscopy or based on a response to the breath test. It’s possible that there may be another method that could detect it like the one that Cyrex is talking about with Array 22. I think that that test certainly does pick up on some kind of gut dysfunction, but I don’t think you can call it SIBO because SIBO refers to a specific condition. It has a specific definition, so I don’t find myself using it.
