Dr. Amy Nett: I would say, if the patient wants to bring gluten back into their diet, then, yes, I would repeat the test. When I would repeat would be when I feel like we’ve made enough progress in treatment. Generally if we’ve done Cyrex Array 3, we probably also will have run the SIBO breath test and the stool testing, our normal sort of panel of tests that we do. The timing in terms of when you repeat it, you want to make sure you’ve already addressed any underlying causes of intestinal permeability that could be contributing, anything that you can recognize that might be causing either intestinal permeability or immune imbalance. Once you feel like you’ve addressed those underlying issues, that’s a great time to repeat the Cyrex Array 3 panel because some patients will have changes. We know that these food sensitivity tests are not static, so when patients feel like they might want to reintroduce foods into their diets, after you’ve done adequate treatment, feel like you’ve addressed the underlying issues, that’s a great time to repeat the Cyrex Array 3, and similarly, you can do the same with Array 4 or Array 10 if there are foods on those panels that they reacted to and want to reintroduce. Great question.
